Story Behind The Song

By far, ?God?s Guitar Song? has become the favorite of most who have heard my early projects. It started as a full project, with drums, bass and electric guitars, but wound up as an acoustic song. In fact, I considered calling it ?God?s Acoustic Guitar Song?, later setting up ?God?s Guitar Song? with electric instruments, but that idea faded. This song was actually written in about 45 minutes. When God gives you an idea, He hits you upside the head with it! I was sitting in a load shack at work unloading a chemical truck when the words came to me. I scribbled the words on scratch paper, went home, grabbed my guitar and threw it together. It was in the studio that it changed to an all acoustic song.

Before I hit the bed to sleep the night away.
I closed my eyes and right away began to dream,
I stood before the golden streets and the mighty crystal sea.

It was a diamond plated Martin with my name engraved in gold.
