Song Description

This song speaks about trying to find meaning in our journey here. I kinda thought of it as a personal journey, and a humankind journey...

like the female vocal allot. like the solemn/serious-ness of this tune allot. like the way you pitched the "long long way" hook/title, not done enough--hell hope i'm right...LOL nice work, i like this

Hi there and Happy New Year. This is an interesting song. I like the minimalistic instrumental back-up. Makes it very haunting. You have a VERY nice voice and the recording is clean and well mixed. There are a lot of songs written about being a long, long way away from "something", but your song had a nice spin on the topic. Spot on in the FOLK Genre and it should find a home in TV and Film and certainly on your own CD.

Lyrics

It's a Long, Long Way 2006

You're walking down the road, trying to find what it is that you're looking for/
It can't be bought, it can't be sold, it can't be measured by the things we've been told/
If a child can lead the way, are we looking way too hard for the answer?
It can't be bought, it can't be sold, it can't be measured by the things we've been told/
Chorus:
And it's a long, long way back to where we started from/ it's a long, long way to where we're going/ it's a long, long way back to where we started from/ it's a long long way to where we're going/
Bridge:
Cast your net into the sea/ it's coming up empty/ maybe it's time to cast it on the other side/
Look at the sky, can't you see the signs of where we're going to?/
Red sky at night, sailor's delight/ red sky in the morning, it brings a warning/
Cast your net into the sea, it's coming up empty/ maybe it's time to cast it on the other side
Chorus:
And it's a long, long way back to where we started from/ it's a long, long way to where we're going

You're walking down the road, trying to find what it is that you're looking for/ it can't be bought it can't be sold/ it can't be measured by the things
we've been told;
Chorus: (end)
