Story Behind The Song
Worley and I were sitting around talking about how dads seem to get a raw deal in most divorce cases, so we wrote a song to tell the dad's side of the story.

Lyrics
Amber by Glenn Warren and Worley Max McKinney
Amber was the symbol of our love...
The way God meant for love to be;
But the love we shared for Amber...
Couldn't hold together Amber's mom and me;
We did out best to keep from breakin' Amber's heart;
The more we tried to pull together...the more we fell apart;
Now it's only every other weekend...
That my little girl is mine;
From Friday night to Sunday afternoon's...
The only time I feel alive;
Then she packs her little suitcase...
When it's time for her to leave;
As her mom drives her away...
My baby sadly looks at me...
Chorus: When Amber Waves Goodbye...And I see her start to cry...
I hold up for a while...I force myself to smile...
Until she's out of sight;
How much more can one man take?
How many times can one heart break?
Unless you've felt the pain, there's no way to explain..
How bad it hurts inside....
When Amber Waves Goodbye.
Bridge: I agreed that little girls...
Need mommies more than daddies 'til they're grown;
But that was back before I turned...
And walked back to an empty house alone.
Chorus: When Amber Waves Goodbye...And I see her start to cry...
I hold up for a while...I force myself to smile...
Until she's out of sight;
How much more can one man take?
How many times can one heart break?
Unless you've felt the pain, there's no way to explain...
How bad it hurts inside....
When Amber Waves Goodbye.
