Story Behind The Song
I actually had the idea for this song for about 3 years before I wrote it. I had watched Titanic late one night, and found myself after it was over wondering how you'd ever be able to recover from losing someone you love like that. The title "Once You've Loved That Way" came into my head, and the song kind of wrote itself over time from there.
Song Description
This is the story of someone who realizes that it's going to be very difficult to be happy in love again because they had their true love, and let it go. And once you've loved that way, there's usually not a second opportunity.

Lyrics
Once You?ve Loved That Way
She was my reason for living
the only thing in my life that made sense
But somehow I pushed her away
Insanity is my only defense
And I know there?s nobody else who could love me
the way, the way that she did
(Chorus)
Only once in a lifetime can you ever hope to find
A love that completes you, somebody who needs you
the way that she needed me, always believed in me
I guess this is my price to pay
There can be no one else, once you?ve loved that way
I?m so tired of fallin? asleep
every night to the memory of how we made love
And I know there?s nobody else who will love me
the way, the way that she did
(Chorus)
And it?s so clear now, now that it?s too late
That she was the one
But I just couldn?t hold on to my fate
(Chorus)
