End of the Line

Story Behind The Song

Lyrics

This day had to come to this man of great worth
Your journey had ended at least here on earth
You've lived a full life but you've run out of time
And you've come to this place at the end of the line

Youv'e brought up a family and taught them so much
About giving and sharing and helping and such
You set the example, working hard all the time
And gave it your best til the end of the line

Chorus There are those who await you with welcoming hands
To reach out, embrace you, show you the plan
I know as we grieve here and miss you this day
You're already helping lost souls find their way

Now as you lie here, your soul's been withdrawn
I want you to know that your spirit lives on
Through your songs and your daughters, their children in kind
All here in this circle at the end of the line

Chorus

Your friends and your family have returned to their homes
I'll take this last moment with you alone
You're a hero to me, Dad, and I know in due time
We'll all be together at the end of the line
We'll all be together at the end of the line
