Story Behind The Song
The piano was composed after her piano teacher requested that she explore inversions of 2 major chords using a modal scale. Simultaneously inspired and frustrated by the complex assignment, Elissa added a melody and lyrics about being middle aged.
Song Description
A poignant framing of the modern day American adult existence captured in an alternative rock sound. Chordal inversions in triplet complimented by a melodic bass, snappy percussion in triplet and the guitarist's Ebow create a Radiohead-like tune with a female vocal reminiscent of Sarah MacLachlan.

Oh the sages
Welcome to the Middle Ages
Race to the top
Make it stop
Find the fountain
Do make say think
In a blink
Down the mountain
Reach and bend
Welcome friends
To the Middle Ages
You finally said you're sorry
But I'm sorry too
You said we needn't worry
But I needed you
Race to the top
Make it stop

Buy buy buy
Reach and bend
Om om
