Story Behind The Song
A friend of mine named Richard once shared a memorable childhood experience with me. It happened to him on Halloween night. He recalled being energized with the excitement of venturing out into his neighborhood for Tricks or Treats. Shortly after supper he slipped into his skeleton costume and darted down the hall for a peak at himself in the mirror. He took one glance and-----
Song Description
A haunting musical arrangement accented by spine-tickling special effects set the tone for a little boy's Halloween encounter with himself. Based on a true story, a would-be trick or treater gets dressed up in his costume and hurries down the hall to take a peek at himself in the mirror. When he sees a skeleton staring back at him, he is frightened out of his wits until, assured by his mom and dad, he takes off his mask and sees it is himself looking back. He laughs aloud, dons his mask, and "With a rattle, skeedaddle,/A How do you do?/With a Bone-diggy, Bone-diggy, Bone-diggy BOO!" he heads out the door for trick or treat, a self-assured skeleton giving friends he meets quite a fright of their own.
Bone-Diggy Boo! provides children with a balance of fun and frights as well as a sense of assurance as they anticipate and celebrate Halloween.

Lyrics
BONE-DIGGY BOO!
I put on my costume,
Hurried down the hall
To peek at myself
In the mirror on the wall.
But when I saw a skeleton
Starin' me in the eye,
It made me shake and quiver,
It made me start to cry--
With a rattle, skedaddle,
"A how do you do?"
With a Bone-diggy, Bone-diggy,
Bone-diggy BOO!
I cried out to my Mama,
I cried out to Dad.
They said, "It's just your costume!"
That made me so glad.
I took off my boney mask,
I saw that it was me,
I laughed at myself,
"Ha-ha! Ha-ha! Hee-hee!"
With a rattle, skedaddle,
"A how do you do?"
With a Bone-diggy, Bone-diggy,
Bone-diggy BOO!
I put my mask back on,
Was bones from head to feet,
I rattled out the front door,
Yelling, "Trick or Treat!"
I didn't scare myself again
All Halloween night.
But when I bumped into my friends,
I gave them quite a fright!
With a rattle, skedaddle,
"A how do you do?"
With a Bone-diggy, Bone-diggy,
Bone-diggy BOO!
