Everything I Own

Story Behind The Song

Ziona and I sat in the Mall, singing in the entry way. People smiled at us. The security officer did not smile. He told us we weren't allowed to play on mall property. No music. "But there's music inside!" we protested, referring to the techno beats that fight to be heard over each other, blending and melding as you walk through the mall. No, we had to leave, or he would have to force us. "One more song?" we asked. No, he was very serious. So we left singing "I want to take off my clothes but the people won't let me." and "this'll be the day that I die." And in Disney-land they said "We do the entertaining here. Not you." But we tossed the guitar over the fence anyway, and rocked out on Tom Sawyer's Island. And at the Grand Ole Opry, we were escorted off of the premises shouting "NO ANGEL BORN IN HELL..." because fire is the Devil's only friend. I shall not stop singing.
