Puppets Part One

Story Behind The Song

I created this track with the idea of it being used for an extreme sports compilation video or something similar. I was thinking mainly about the parkour video's by guys like James Kingston and Mustang Wanted, so it inspired me to give the track an "epic" sort of feel to it.

Song Description

For this track I was having some fun with processing sounds that I had recorded. The main "bell" like melody was simply me tapping an empty glass, which I then processed by adding a list of effects to and then creating the melody line with the end result. The bass sound is actually a guitar feedback sample to which I added EQ and dropped the pitch. The song builds up as it goes on, (which is pretty typical of my song writing style) and drops into a sort of breakbeat- around this part of the song I added some sub-bass and also some processed vocal samples that I recorded. It then cuts suddenly to a calm "interlude" which is actually the melody line bounced to an audio track and played in reverse, which I thought sounded pretty nice! The song finishes back with the breakbeat with some added synth chords to build-up the mood of the track. I had a lot of fun making this one, and I'm working on more tracks like this one at the momemt!
