Story Behind The Song
I love songs that start out softer and have room to build. This one does that musically from verse to chorus and then has a bridge that really rocks. I like the flow of the song and how we bring it back down at the end. Lyrically it's about a guy hurting the woman he loves and feeling he's failed her and dealing with the frustration of not being able to communicate how he truly feels... typical guy stuff. --Brian Weber

Lyrics
What Can I Do
(Josh Campbell/Brian Weber 3/03)
V.1
What can I do
I didn?t mean to hurt you seems I did it anyway
It?s a mystery to me
My big plans
My head full of dreams I never do a damn thing
I?m stuck right where I am
CHORUS
And I know it?s not over
I?ve got my life to live
I get older, grow tougher
But I?m weaker than I?ve ever been
This fire within me
Is starting to grow dim
As the calendars pages fall I fade away
V.2
What do you see
Trying to open up reveal who I really am
But I just can?t let it show
And I try
Sharing with you expressing how I really feel
It just won?t come out right
CHORUS
BRIDGE
I want you to see the truth that lays here inside me
Can?t get it out it?s bottled up inside me
I want to break free and show you what I do feel
Tell me what do you see
CHORUS 2
And I know it?s not over?
And I don?t mean to hurt you?
This fire within me?
It feels like I'm fading...
