Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song after being promised a promotion at work and then getting passed up time and time again. The job required a lot of heavy lifting and at the time I was the first female to apply. I was pretty sure that was the reason I was not getting the job, but was not quite sure. Therefore, I couldn't accuse anyone so it was sheer agony. The other writer, Rusty, saw it as a cheating spouse song. It can be interpreted either way I suppose.
Song Description
The person in this song knows his/her significant other has something going on behing their back but they are not sure what. The wailing section was meant to show the pain and suffering you go through when you don't know what's going on. By the end of the song, the relationship is over and the person can "really see the light"

Lyrics
Verse 1
It's all so very clear
Living life, doing right
And trying to keep my focus
There's something happening here
Deep inside where I hide
And now it seems so hopeless
Oh, Oh, Oh
Verse 2
There's something happening here
Something's happening here
I don't know what it is
But I don't like it
We were so very near
Now my soul's fallen in a hole
And you don't seem to mind it
Chorus
Now that it's over
Yeah, you don't even know my name
Something has happened
Yeah, and I don't understand it
I don't understand it
Verse 3
Where did we go wrong
Was it me, was it you
Or can't we even see it
We been together so long
I gave my all and you walked
And now I can't believe it
Oh, Oh, Oh
Repeat Chorus
Oh, Oh, Oh
