Story Behind The Song
I was telling my friend about a certain man that I loved, but he just wasn't treating me right. Her comment was: "Awww...Is your little red wagon painted blue?"
Song Description
When I was young I sang along to Leadbelly's"Little Red Wagon Painted Blue." It was a cute catchy song like "Skip To My Lou" etc. As an adult the wagon became the Mahayana or "Great Vehicle" of Buddhism. Somewhere in between it was a crude reference to an anatomical female body part. Now,in this song, it is all of these.

Lyrics
Little Red Wagon
Words & Music by Elly Wininger
Well I thought we had a good thing.
But you're off with somebody new.
And I'm left here all alone
In my Little Red Wagon, painted blue.
Well you told me that you loved me
With a love you said was true.
But the truth is... you're gone.
And my Little Red Wagon's painted blue.
I don't know how it happened.
Was it something that I did?
Or did you just grow tired of me
And you kept those feelings hid?
Verse 3
Well you never come around.
But there's nothing I can do.
So I'll just sit here missing you
In my Little Red Wagon painted blue.
(Instr. Verse)
I don't know how it happened.
Was it something that I said?
Or was it something that you thought
That you made up in your head?
Well you never come around.
But there's nothing I can do.
So I'll just sit here missing you
In my Little Red Wagon painted blue.
In my Little Red Wagon painted blue.
