Story Behind The Song
This song is about a transitional time in my life, when I had first moved from Houston to Austin to pursue music. I was feeling aimless and like everyone around me was accomplishing things and I didn't know what steps to take...I felt displaced and lonely in a new city and questioned my decision to move in the first place.
Song Description
This song starts out with vocals right away. The verse builds as more instruments come in and the chorus has a driving feel to it. Everything drops out again for the second verse and it builds back into the second chorus which is followed by a vocal breakdown that has no lyrics which builds into an outro which fades out, ending the song.

Lyrics
It starts with a cry and then you're moving
then you're moving slowly backwards, going faster, you're going faster
You run at a speed I know I can't match
I wonder where could you have learned to go so fast, to go so fast, to go so fast?
A wave of doubt could wash this whole city out, city out.
So leave me alone just for the evening
need to contemplate the reasons why it's so great, and it's so bad, no it's so sad
You move to a place where no one knows you
and you wonder why you're feeling so lonely, and it's so great, no it's so sad
A wave of common sense would knock you to the ground from your place on the fence.
Oh, it starts with a cry and then you're moving, then you're moving slowly backwards, going faster, going faster, you're going faster...
