That's the Way I Feel About It Now

Story Behind The Song

Always also in the Blue Yonder repertoire, this was firstly recorded with many of the hallmarks of the BY sound - acoustic guitars, mandolin and percussion. Later, Eddie revisited the track and stripped away the majority of the instruments.

Song Description

This was one of several songs that came to me in a burst of writing activity I had in the early stages of what evolved into After The Rain (KM Dec 07)

Song Length 2:45 Genre Folk - Contemporary

Lyrics

That's the way I feel about it now
That's the way I feel about it now
What's said is said, what's done is done
You took your chance and you let your luck run
And that's the way I feel about it now.

People like you won't ever change anyhow
What's cursed is cursed, what's blessed is blessed
You took what you needed and you left the rest
And that's the way I feel about it now.

Don't push me and I won't push you
We all want to bite off more than we can chew
It's a ship of fools and we're all in the crew
We're all sizzling in the same old stew
And that's the way I feel about it now.

There are some loves and lusts old fate will not allow
What's cut is cut, what's healed is healed
You took up the sword and I took up the shield
And I'm saying, that's the way I feel about it now.

Don't push me and I won't push you
We all want to bite off more than we can chew
It's a ship of fools and we're all in the crew
We're all sizzling in the same old stew
And that's the way I feel about it now.
