Story Behind The Song
The song is based on John 14:6. One of the first lines written for this song was "The Way is through the Son." The balance of the song was written around that thought. Through out the verses I wanted to make people think that what happened 2000 years ago is very relevant and still true today; what will the listener decide about life with this information and, in verse two, the promises/consequences of that decision.
Song Description
This song is based around the passage in John 14:6 where Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." References to this bible passage are found in the first verse "Light that showed the way to go" and in the chorus "The Way is through the Son". The pre-chorus poses the question of what will the listener decide about this information. Will they follow "The Way" taught by Jesus in the bible or not.

Lyrics
There was a place far away, a long time ago.
A new day came as did a light, that showed the way to go.
And what will you do my friend?
What will you choose?
The way is through the Son.
Your life has just begun.
The fight was won, through Jesus the Son. Jesus the Son
Two roads lay ahead; both begin to call.
One leads to the Light; the other to a fall.
And what will you do my friend?
What will you choose?
(Chorus)
Was it really long ago? Was it far away?
The light of old is here today, and simply called The Way.
