Lyrics
There's an old man sitting over there
Looking like he doesn't have a care
And it's a matter of time
He's just living his life
But there are so many people around that come on over and just talk for a while
It's the best time of day
He has so much to say
His stories change the way you look at life
So full of wisdom, just look in his eyes
No regrets of the past
He says with a laugh
The old man has been around for a while
His only child is gone and so is his wife
But he is not lonely
He has you and me
His only grandchild lives a selfish life
So he counts on strangers to talk about life
Time is all he has left
But he's OK with his past
(Instrumental Bridge)
He taught us to live one day at a time
Don't be bitter
Learn to live a good life
Cause its a matter of time
When you'll be where I am now
See the old man sitting over there
He has taught me so much and I don't dare to say goodbye
So, I just smile---and walk away---till tomorrow
