Story Behind The Song
This was simply a song that came to me one day. I suppose it has to do with me and my wife. Although I did not meet her at a festival, our eyes locked one day when I was playing a gig (which was at a festival) and I knew we were in love. We used to hang out for hours at the Summer Fest grounds in Milwuakee, WI after I played a gig. She hasn't died or anything but I can surely imagine the way it will be if she ever did. We truely have taken a ride on many clouds in the Lord's summer skies.
Song Description
Love is very hard to find. When a person finds it, he / she needs to embrace it with all their might. This is what happens in this story. A young man finds his love at first sight with a young woman in the audience at one of his shows at a county festival. He gets together with her after the show and they hang out together at the festival. Their love grows deep, like they are riding clouds in the sky. They spend their lives together and after his love dies he visits her grave and remembers the way it all started. Riding clouds in the summer sky.

Lyrics
Verse1:
I met you in the summer time from a hot rockin? weekend stage
In the jam packed crowd of the festival
I saw your glance and I was amazed
Never before had I seen such a girl
And I probably never would again
So I stared back at you with a confident grin
And my world was never the same
Verse 2:
We hung around the festival grounds, ?til the last lamp lit up the night
Then we kissed on the rocks by the waterfall
And made our own kind of special light.
We nearly had the world to our selves
?cept for two couples fallin' in love.
And I knew we were havin? a great time baby
And I knew God was watchin? above.
Chorus:
I will never forget you,
You may never remember
We could never have been so high
Riding Clouds in the Summer Sky
Lord knows I will miss you baby
The summer it comes and it goes
Last night was a special night
Riding Clouds in the Summer Sky
Verse 3:
Now many years have come and gone
and my love has never faded away
I knew back then if I?d take my time
I could have love that would ever stay
Now my gray hair's winnin? and I?m day dreamin'
of the stage from where we first met.
I'll always remember the great times baby
And pray the Lord's watchin? you up above.
Chorus:
