Silver Moon

Story Behind The Song

I am a Mom and a Soldier, My husband and I were both stationed in Iraq at the same time and since I am a musician, I wanted to write the kids a song so they new were always thinking of them. It was a difficult time because you never really know if you will come back, and because of this , children lose part of thier innocence, but my husband and I are lucky and we are back in the states now.

Lyrics

Star Light, Star Bright, watch my babies as they sleep tonight
keep them safe from harms way, in this desert here my pray
far a way we have to fight, so our babies can sleep tight
you are always in my heart, although we have to be apart

So take a right towards the silver moon, I'll be with my babies soon
I'll be home again some day, I get down on my knees and pray

Star light, star bright, keep my babies in your sight
keep them wrapped in arms of love, of golden angles from above
please don't let them know I cry, when I sing this lullaby
I miss them more each passing day, but I'll be coming home someday

So take a right towards the Silver Moon, I'll be with my babies soon
I'll be home again one day, I get down on my knees and pray

I wish I may, I wish I might, be with them in thier dreams tonight
my boots walking through this sand will lead me to my home again

So take a right towards the Silver Moon, I'll be with my babies soon,
I'll be home again one day, I get down on my knees and pray
