Story Behind The Song
I wrote a version that was 6 minutes long, and was about rest and weariness and relinquishing to a beautiful ocean scene on a boat. Burt Bruton submitted an idea about love and wanted to make the song shorter, so we recut the song with our new lyrics.
Song Description
The song sounds like "Take it To the Limit" by the Eagles in tempo and form.

Lyrics
I crawl through this desert
To waters so cool
Bone dry and driven
To the ocean that is you
Wash over me
I offer release
And put me in a boat in full sail
Ride me on over the sea, yea ride me on over the sea
Your waves chase the seashore
Your tide rushes in
And without giving back
And without paying price
I can savor this sweet bless
Again and Again
Wash over me
I offer release
Put me in a boat in full sail
Ride me on over the sea
I am rocked by the waters, they seep into our soul
Bathed in your beauty, I relinquish control
Lulled by your love surrounded in blue
Love sparkles like sapphires and I am renewed
Wash over me
I offer release
Put me in a boat in full sail
Ride me on over the sea
