Story Behind The Song

I was reading a story about a sound engineer that worked on many Beatle albums. He said the sounds he would hear would brings colors into his mind. So when he would mix a song, he would feel like he's actually creating a painting with colors through the music. I remembered that from the book when I sat down to write the song, and put my own spin on it with painting emotions on canvas that are going on in life.

Song Description

The painter in this song is having a rocky relationship with his current girlfriend. He finds out she is cheating on him. With nowhere else to relieve his grief over the situation, he puts paint to canvas, and paints his feelings. Anger, frustration, hurtfulness, etc. Using dark colors to reflect his mood at the time, especially Black.
