Lyrics

ALKNOMOOK

Chant:
Grant where there is darkness I bring light...echo
Grant where there is hatred I bring love...echo
I will be the keeper of the earth...echo
You will be my father at my birth...echo

Chant...repeat

The sun sets at night and the stars shun the day;
But their glory remains-when their light fades away
Begin ye tormentors, your threats are in vain,
for the son of ALKNOMOOK he will never complain.

Chant..repeat

Remember the woods where in ambush we lay?
and the scalps which we bore from your nations away?
remember the arrows he shot from his bow?
for the son of ALKNOMOOK he will never complain.

Now I go to the land where my father has gone,
and his ghost will rejoice at the fame of his son;
Death comes upon me to relief all my pain
and the son of ALKNOMOOK he will never complain.

Chant ....repeat

Grant where there is darkness I bring light...echo
Grant where there is hatred I bring love...echo
I will be the keeper of the earth....echo
You will be my father at my birth

reminds me of early 70's music, like the flutes, good for a soundtract---great ending!

The Death Song of the Cherokee Indians...very moving piece...

Very hypnotic! The simple backing vocal tracks were very effective in adding depth to the spoken voice.
Very nice bass track. Very interesting blend of musical elements. Good quality recording and mix.

Atmospheric. Nicely produced instrumentation. Very calming.

This is a very unique track, combining a distinctly Native American flute/percussion/chant-vocal with the plaintive female vocal that tells the story. Love the percussion intro and the way the flute comes in. Ambiance works perfectly as a soundscape for this song. Creatively produced. High marks for originality. I like the way the writer weaves an altered prayer of St. Francis into the song. Nice choice!

Excellent transcending vibe for universal hope. Very haunting, makes you want to hear more and believe. Nice job

I really like the subtle intro, you know you are in for a real musical treat!! Like the Indian vocals and the universal spirit of the song....GREAT JOB!! I can hear this in a film!!! Terrific mix and love the reverb on the vocals!!
