Story Behind The Song

Massachusetts Avenue is a major route I take in getting to and from my job, daily. It runs through the cities of Lemon Grove and La Mesa and it's easy to get to work minus the traffic. Getting home in the afternoon is a different story as there is a great deal of traffic, especially near the freeway ramps. The demographics are quite diverse and what I would consider a working class area. With the daily drive, especially over these many years, it seemed fitting to give a lively instrumental to it.

Song Description

The rhythm track became the driving force for this song. The bass notes, fitted in with the chords, become the foundation. The lead track becomes more of the supportive feature to complement the rhythm. The sparing use of the leads, along with the chosen key signature, have some influence from guitarist Marc Antoine.
