Story Behind The Song
One Sunday after church, I asked my pastor and friend, Tommy Ledbetter, if he could give me a suggestion for a symbol to use on my business card. He said, ?What about a dove?? The dove has become a personal symbol for me. The dove gives me hope just as it did for Noah (Genesis 8:11). With that hope comes peace. If only everyone knew that peace! Not only did Tommy suggest the symbol, he also inspired me to think about what I believe about the symbol of the dove. The congregation of Goshen United Methodist Church that is pastored by Tommy recited the Apostle?s Creed. Thanks for all you do!

Lyrics
I believe in the dove that carries God?s words of peace for all to share.
I believe in His love that carries us in time of need. He shows us that He cares about
You and me. I hope that you can see
Instead of hurting one another, we should love our brother.
Ride the dove that?s what I believe.
If you had to choose which way to go, if you had to feel his pain,
What would you do to right the wrong? Would you complain?
When you?re angry there?s a peace within that only God can give.
So listen to His calming voice, then you can truly live.
I believe in the dove that carries God?s words of peace for all to share.
I believe in His love that carries us in time of need. He shows us that He cares about
You and me. I hope that you can see
Instead of hurting one another, we should love our brother.
Ride the dove that?s what I believe.
When the fighting is all over and your hour has come.
When God looks deep within your heart will He know where you?re coming from?
Do you believe with all your soul? Do you believe with all your heart?
Do you believe His promises? Will you do your part?
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. On the third day he rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting.
