Lyrics
VERSE I
I was driving on my way to work this morning
I wasn?t in a very good mood
The kids were driving me crazy
They always argue before school
I pay my taxes in this tiny little town
They never seem to fix the roads
The local newsman comes on the radio
He says a soldiers coming home
CHORUS
He says, There?s a soldier
A young Marine from two towns over
He?s coming home early
From a standard tour of duty
Back to his mother
Who?s been worried since he?s been gone
Today is the day
She?ll worry no more
VERSE II
That got me thinking when the little things get you down
Stop and think where you could be
If not for the soldiers like the one from two towns over
Our way of life wouldn?t be
CHORUS
SOLO--
BRIDGE--
So I turned this car around
And I head on out of town
There were tears in my eyes
As I pulled back in the drive
And I hold my kids and kiss my wife
And thank the soldiers
CHORUS
TAG
Take the time to appreciate your life
And thank a soldier
