Torquil Telfer's Farewell to the Oban Bay

Story Behind The Song

Quirky take on folky (Irish?) music with the kind of harmonic progressions more usually found in light classical music. The fusion is delightful. Is it accordion on the melody? Well-composed string counter-melody towards the end adds interest. Fun piece.

Nice groove, a very happy island song. Love the drum variations in the 1:30 section. Excellent programming. Melody sounds very familiar but original, that is a songwriting gift you have.

What fun this song generates, a lively tune to make the toes tap and make one feel up and positive. Thanks for the ride
