Song Description

Told from the point of view of a person who is lost in their own life, and contemplating suicide, hoping someone will notice and help them.

Story Behind the Song

Lyrics are inspired by my good friend, Ricky in high school, who tragically passed away suddenly, as well as a family member, & another acquaintance. The song was written to speak against bullying, & raise awareness, so that hopefully the signs will be seen and future lives saved!

Lyrics

RESTING IN PIECES

HERE I AM, CAN YOU SEE ME?
SENDING OUT MY HEART TO THE ATMOSPHERE.
HERE I AM, CAN YOU FEEL ME?
I'M CALLING OUT FOR ALL TO HEAR.

IN THIS EXISTANCE, I REST IN PIECES.
ON THE JAGGED EDGE OF SANITY.
PRAYING A SOUL WILL RESCUE ME,
FROM THIS PRISON I CALL HOME.
IN THIS DARKNESS SEEKING LIGHT,
WALKING LOST IN AN ENDLESS NIGHT.
AND SO I WAIT, TO SEE MY FATE.
'TIL THEN I'M RESTING,
I'M RESTING IN PIECES.

I SIT IN THIS DEAFENING SILENCE,
CRYING OUT FOR SOMEONE, ANYONE TO COME.
FEELING AFRAID, AFRAID IN THIS SOLITUDE,
ALWAYS ALONE, FROZEN AND NUMB.

UNTIL THEN I'M RESTING,
I'M RESTING IN PIECES.

IF YOU SEE ME, DON'T JUST WALK ON BY,
MY HEART IS HEAVY WITH THE SCARS I HIDE.
IF YOU SEE THE SIGNS, DON'T IGNORE THEM.
'CAUSE YOU MIGHT JUST SAVE MY LIFE.

IN THIS EXISTANCE, I REST IN PIECES.
ON THE JAGGED EDGE OF SANITY.
PRAYING A SOUL WILL RESCUE ME,
FROM THIS PRISON I CALL HOME.
IN THIS DARKNESS SEEKING LIGHT,
WALKING LOST IN AN ENDLESS NIGHT.
IN THIS EXISTANCE, I REST IN PIECES.
THIS LIFE IS MY REALITY,
NEED A HERO TO RESCUE ME,
FROM THIS PRISON, I CALL HOME.
IN THIS DARKNESS SEEKING LIGHT,
WALKING LOST IN AN ENDLESS NIGHT.
AND SO I WAIT, TO SEE MY FATE.
UNTIL THEN I'M RESTING,
I'M RESTING IN PIECES.
I REST IN PIECES.
