Story Behind The Song
George Jones is my favorite artist and I have performed many of his songs over the years. In this song I used famous lines from several George Jones songs to tell the story of a man who is "living his life like a George Jones song". I sang the song and played rhythm guitar and harmonica. My wife, Trish, played bass. I added the other instruments using the "Fruity Loops" program.

Lyrics
Well, A friend of mine stopped by the house today.
He said his third wife just up and moved away.
He got drunk and wrecked his corvette.
The law's out looking but they ain't caught him yet,
And if you ask him why, here's what he will say.
(CHORUS)
He's living his life like a George Jones song.
He's drinking and cheating and being done wrong.
His excuses are weak. His liquor is strong.
He's living his life like a George Jones song.
The old boys had at least 15 affairs.
And his second wife says, she thinks he still cares.
He drinks white lightning in his mountain dew.
He breaks the seal and yells yabba dabba doo.
And there ain't no doubt,
He don't need your rockin' chair.
(Repeat Chorus)
Well he found his wife and said I want a D I V O R C E
And I really don't care what you have to say.
So she called the law on her cellular phone.
They showed up and the race was on.
And it looks like he stopped loving her today.
(Repeat Chorus)
