Story Behind The Song
This song was written during my tenure as a barista. I got very used to watching the same people come in and sit alone with their cups of coffee day after day. I wrote this song after a conversation with one of my regulars who said she started drinking coffee when her husband and her split.
Song Description
A song about how we use tangible things to fill the voids left by people.

VERSE 1:
Coffee makes me happy
when there's nothing to be happy about
It finds me and it helps me out
And I don't know what I would do if
My coffee burned me like you did
I'd probably fall apart
And sell away the secrets of my heart
'Till I've gone numb
But I hope that day never ever comes
VERSE 2:
Coffee entertains me
When there's nothing for me to do
And nobody to talk to
And I don't know what I would do if
My coffee went cold like you did
I'd probably go to sleep
And pray my sofa to keep my soul save and warm
But I hope that day never ever comes
BRIDGE:
Falling down on me
It's always falling down on me
I know to your taste I was always a little too dark
And to mine you were always just a little too light
But together we were just right
VERSE 3:
Coffee pacifies me
When there's no one for me to kiss
Not even someone to miss
And I don't know what I would do if
My coffee ran out like you did
I'd have to let it leave
And find another way to believe
That I am not alone
But I hope that day never ever comes
