Story Behind The Song
This song is very personal. It is really about narcissistic defenses and the fear of abandonment: a psychological condition in which we withdraw from those around us for fear of being abandoned by them. It was a conflict that poisoned many of my relationships. This song is not sad but hopeful, and describes the moment when we start to see what is really going on and embrace the flaw in our thinking, enabling us to finally connect with the person or people that we love.
Song Description
Why do we tend to feel like we are by ourselves when there are billions of other people around us? Doesn't that seem impossible? But it is a real perspective and feeling that is so common. This song is about the change from feeling so alone and secluded, like you have walked up and down every street in the city just to find each one barron and empty, and then finally seeing an old friend that you hardly remember, but that you want to hug and keep close to you forever.

Lyrics
LOST IN A CAVE
I never thought that I could see into the future with such certainty
Never felt so alive when someone else was reaching out for me
I never will forget all the reasons for these changes that you caused
And I can?t escape the feeling that I never will go back to the way I was Lost in a cave
Because I know now what I want to feel
And I know now what I just can?t do without
And I?ll never turn my back on you ever again
At times I?m such a fool a silly little fool so laughable and uncool
Shit if only I would grow up get out and forgive myself then maybe I could forgive you
And forget about perfection it?s enough just to accept that we are who we are
And it never made much sense when I was frozen like an iceman in the dark Lost in a cave
But I know now what I want to feel and I know now what I just can?t do without
I see it now and I?ll never turn my back on you
Ever again not ever again
no never again
I never thought that I could see into the future with such certainty
Never felt so alive when someone else was reaching out for me
