Lyrics

1. You might?ve heard me scratching, you might?ve seen me run
You might?ve tried to catch me, you?re not the only one
But you know, you and I have the same basic needs,
A roof & a bed, a few pieces of cheese
You wouldn?t believe all the things I?ve found,
Step into my world and I?ll show you around.

Chorus
And the traps you set for me are nothing
Compared to the ones where humans fall
Oh, the things that you see when you?re quiet and small,
And living like me in this hole in the wall.

2. Big Daddy?s up on the 3rd floor, breaking in a new recruit
Saying ?don?t be scared? as he strokes her hair
takes a packet from inside his suit.
Yeah, he thinks he?s on top, yeah he thinks he?s a king
but he sweats every time that the telephone rings
The life he?s leading is its own reward,
And you know what they say about living by the sword

Chorus
And the traps you set for me are nothing
Compared to the ones where humans fall
Oh, the things that you see when you?re quiet and small,
And living like me in this hole in the wall.

Bridge I know all of your comings and goings,
who you call late at night on the phone
The foods that you eat, the hours you sleep and the
places you touch when you think you?re alone...

3. Come on, I?ll show you my favorite, old lady in 1B
There?s lots of dirt to hide in,
and lots of trash to eat
She?s got rags in the windows and grease on the walls,
Nobody comes over and nobody calls
Yeah, she used to have family she used to have friends,
Now she stares at the TV and waits for the end.

Chorus
And the traps you set for me are nothing
Compared to the ones where humans fall
Oh, the things that you see when you?re quiet and small,
And living like me in this hole in the wall.
