Lyrics
Verse 1
Vivian and Peter had a meeting at the alter while her sister Rita jealously looked on.
But Peter never showed, and nor did Rita, they just slipped away, embracing at the fountain on the lawn.
Vivian in silent grief and slumber wandered to the fountain took her life as lovers stories go.
They found her in the fountain at the pink house on the corner that her family built a long time ago.
Cho. 1
Now her soul sleeps in the fountain
But walls they can?t contain it.
And the pool it isn?t evil.
It?s the water in the ground.
Verse 2
2 wayward lovers came back to the pink house with a daughter, determined now to exorcise their shame.
Through time and heartfelt penance they cleared their name and legacy in the shadow of the fountain full of pain.
Soon the daughter grew a fondness for a friend that no one else could see they played among the willow and the rose.
Until they found her lifeless body in the fountain at the pink house where her parents met a long time ago.
Cho. 2
Now their joined there in the fountain,
At the pink house on the corner.
And the fountain isn?t evil
It?s the water in the ground.
Verse 3
Now they all rest beside the fountain at the pink hose on the corner where they met each other many years ago.
United by a love that should have never been conceived of, in the city where the rippling? waters flow.
Now their bloodlines run together but divert recklessly to the side into a fault line running right along the road.
And the blood runs deep into the earth, to resurface at the fountain that their families built a long time ago.
Cho. 3
And now they?re filling in the fountain.
So it can cause not evil.
But the fountain isn?t evil.
It?s the water in the ground.
