Story Behind The Song

I started writing this to create a moody feel for a film and the drum track was laid down first. Then I added the Dobro for that swampy moodiness. And what goes better than a banjo with a dobro? So the banjo was next... but the banjo is phased so that it sounds electric and creates the tension with a modern sound.

Song Description

Moody, haunting and mysterious cowboy western or bayou country soundtrack. Simmering and about to boil over. Tension filled. Great Movie theme evoking subtle power, darkness and who-dunnit mystery. Banjo and Dobro are prominent throughout with a powerhouse drum track, but the intrumentation is sparse to create a moody feel. I could see this used in a "Longmire" episode or "Cowboys & Aliens" film.
