VERSE 1
Now, my daddy went to heaven when I was 6
Left a pretty young widow with 4 little kids
But she rolled up her sleeves and dug in her heels
And worked real hard to serve up three square meals
SPOKEN: (Man, she was a good woman)
We could tell Mama was feeling down
When she hired a sitter and walked into town
Life wasn?t easy, a very steep road
So, to flatten the hills and lighten the load
She bought a?..It was a??.
CHORUS
two-tone, ragtop Chevrolet
Her home away from home
When she had to get away
When she couldn?t get to church
To knee and pray
She went cruisin? in her ragtop Chevrolet
Yeah, her ?57 ragtop Chevrolet
Hey, hey?.it was a sweet ride?.
VERSE 2
My brother used to call her his movie star
?Cause she looked like Grace Kelley driving that car
We all had a blast with Mom behind the wheel
When she?d stomp on the gas and make the back-end squeal
SPOKEN: (Ha, ha that was so cool)
She wore bobby socks, pigtails and red lipstick
And had a Chesterfield King dangling from her lips
Her radio was rocking on every trip
Mama?s little sweet ride was fully equipped
It was a...it was a??.
REPEAT CHORUS
BRIDGE
Now Mama's up in heaven driving a star
Daddy's there beside her strumming guitar
Singing a song on heavens? boulevard
'Bout their power-shifting, tire-burning earthly car
REPEAT CHORUS

many songs have been written about the 1957 Chevrolet. many of us have even been conceived in the back of a Chevrolet. it was a great car back then. now it is a classic. great song to remember the 50's.

I like the fact that what begins as a traditional progression either holds and doesn't change or jumps to a unexpected chord. This helps keep the listener involved. I initially felt that mom was bailing on the kids and her current situation when in reality all she needs is a break or maybe an accelerator.

Another great story song with super vocals, love the hook and the arrangement.Just keep rockin it up like Bob Seger.

A nice set of naturally flowing lyrics on top of a straight ahead rock n roll bed. Sounds pretty real...must've been a cool mom.

I really like the sound of the drums and the lead guitar really has some good riffs - I also like the lead vocals!

I loved the old school country vibe. It reminded me of the songs in the 90's that were popular at that time. The lyrics were fun and told a very good story. It was conversational and flowed very well. Old school country tells a story, and this song did that. You did a good job writing the lyrics. It was a fun song, had a nice beat to it.

I liked the entire mix, well done.

Nice lyrics. This is a fun down home song. I like the stops in the song.

Nice solid number, sweet song

nice tune.....enjoyed it.....traditional country.....

Good song. Would really love to hear it in a pure rockabilly style.

Fun sounding song , evokes memories of the good ole days, clever lyrics!

I like the feel of the song and the hook. The lyrics and the arrangement reminds me of Confederate Railroad. I think that's a good thing so I hope you take it as I meant it.

Fun song. Simple but good lyrics. Excellent vocals.

good catchy song

Love it. MY KIND OF WOMAN. great song well played and sung Mama didn't let anything get her down. nice imagery

Loved the laugh in the song. Enjoyed some of the pictures described. Sounds like a fun Mom. A little different take on a Mom. So makes it interesting. Loved the harmonies on the chorus.
