Story Behind The Song
When I was about 12 my 19-year-old aunt was living with my family and I. It was great having her around-she was my best friend, advisor, almost like a big sister to me. But she had low self-esteem and thought her life wasn't good enough. So, it moved me to write this ballad for her-a ballad of encouragement.
