Story Behind The Song
I was really lonely and heartbroken when I wrote this one. It was after I came across a really sweet boy at a racetrack, who I hung out with for a couple of days during my stay-and became infatuated with. But after my family and I left for home, it made me ache inside knowing I probably wouldn't see that boy again.
Song Description
It's basically a song about missing somebody you have feelings for, but who you probably won't see because it was only a one-time encounter.

Lyrics
Those last golden days of summer
Dripped until they went dry
But those days felt so worthwhile
Spent on you and I
The way you waved at me showed
That you shared the interest I had
And as we watched the fireworks in the sky
Your hand reached out for my back
CHORUS:
If only you were close to me again
Now that you're gone you still sit
In the back of my mind, my mind
I long to be near you
And I crave to simply hear you
I miss your touch and just standing by your side
I saw you sitting on the grass
With nobody there to sit with you
I saw the solemn expression on your face
As I passed you, looking so blue
So, I decided to turn around and come to your side
And as I walked to you
I swear I almost cried
But how could I bear just leaving you there?
I sat and seduced you with my care, my care, my care, my care
CHORUS REPEAT
By your side
By your side
By your side
