Lyrics

Verse1

Tendrils of the past and
The good times never last and
You left me on my ass and
It took me a thousand nights to breath again

You said 1 night is all and
I wouldn't mind the fall and
The price to pay seemed small and
Now every night I battle with the pain

I hear her in the night and
Struggle for the light and
Find it only to lose sight and
Now I sit alone here in the rain

The substance of regret and
A love we can't forget and
The blood the innocents let
Are all the midnight dreamer has to gain

Bridge

Said the spider to the fly,
Was there ever more lovely than I
You can dance on my silk if you try
Said the spider to the fly,
Then leaves me forever waiting to die

Chorus

And one night is more than enough
To leave you crying for more
When you should be screaming no

One night is more than enough
To scale the face of a cliff
To where you can't let go

One night is never enough
When the knife cuts so deep
Your heart begins to show.

One night is never enough,
No it's never enough, no it's never enough

Verse 2

The dreamers seldom wake when
There's not a prize at stake and
There's not a risk to take and
Yet in this darkness even dreamers can pretend

Easy come and easy go and
Who are they who claim they know and
What rewards are there's to show and
Will they break when it's there turn to bend

The fly was on the wall and
The spider made the call and
The mark will take the fall and
Hang in terror waiting for the end

Bridge

Said the spider to the fly,
Was there ever more lovely than I
You can dance on my silk if you try
Said the spider to the fly,
Then leaves me forever waiting to die

Chorus

And one night is more than enough
To leave you crying for more
When you should be screaming no

One night is more than enough
To scale the face of a cliff
To where you can't let go

One night is never enough
When the knife cuts so deep
Your heart begins to show.

One night is never enough,
No it's never enough, no it's never enough

Verse 3

The mirror seldom lies and
You try to hide your eye and
This fragile worn disguise
Is never gonna wipe away the pain

You said one night is all and
I wouldn't mind the fall and
The price to pay seemed small and
Now I live that single night
Again and again and again and again

Chorus

Great song experience! Painfully pleasurable.Do what you know needs to be done to make it better.

Great song! Loved the melodies and lyrics. Performances are solid all around. Nice energy as well. I always believed that even slow tunes require "energy".

Yes, this is very good. Sung well and very professional sounding. My only negative comment and it is a small one, is that it could do with a bit more stereo seperation. Most of the action is central. But cool track, nonetheless!

Great vocals and background vocals. I like the guitar work. I like the changes, they had a Gothic feel to them. Great song.

loved it, the intro draws you in which is important, well donegood good song

has a nice moody feel.... kind of a slow groove... that builds up nice... good guitar solo and voclist has a good range
