Dealing with someone you love in their passive-aggressive state. They come around you, begging for your attention, yet have this push-pull attitude, make accusations out of jealousy, and have a new hard-edged persona to mask their obvious insecurities and low sense of self-worth. They are going through a major identity crisis because of a mental breakdown, and use this new tough persona as a defense mechanism against you and others, even though they secretly want to break down and be who they were to you and others previously in complete emotional vulnerability. You know this and can immediately recognize it while they have no clue you can see right through it all.
