I like it

Story Behind The Song

I was in the park one day and extremely sullen and blue. i passed a woman who was running and singing so joyfully to her walkman...oblivious to those around her. it made me smile and feel so good...just to watch this other woman in high spirits. based on that idea, i started to think about all the other little things day to day that fill me with such emotion and good sentiments. and i thought about how mush happier this world would be if we could all just stop or pause for a minute here and there to look around us and enjoy all the things that are freely ours.

Song Description

This is a fun song designed to make the listener feel good. With reference to nature, life and love, this song gives good examples of how to enjoy the simple things in life and to heal the pains of yesterday. The song is broken down into 3 verses, with a complimentary chorus that refers to the verse. The first verse introduces us to the idea of the song...that there are certain things in nature or in life that just seem to wash away all the blues and make you feel great. the chorus following intruduces the catchy phrase, 'I like It' and refers to that opening idea. the second verse takes us to a specific place...up in a tree looking at the sky...and the chorus, refers to the feeling associated with that experience. The 3rd verse takes us swimming in the ocean and the complimentary chorus reveals its cleansing properties.

Lyrics

You know the things that you can't quite explain
But they have a certain way of easing the pain
Of a life caught on fast foward always taking control
Sometimes we need to turn around and let ourselves go

And I like it
The way it feels just right
And i know that
If there's a rain cloud tomorrow i will only feel sunlight

Climbed up a tree and i found a nice place
In the arms of 2 branches nearly reaching in space
And I sat there for a while and i looked up at the sky
And saw my own reflection passing me by

And I like that
The way it makes me feel
We're not alone here
We are so much closer than we might appear

If you want to find
A different state of mind
Go look on life from a rooftop from up above
There you will learn
that life just takes its turn
filling us with all little bits of love

Took off my clothes and i went for a swim
Just bare boned naked in the great big ocean
To feel the tide as it swept past my skin
Washing away all the sins from within

And i like that
The way it makes me feel
The strange emotion
To be cleansed with something that is true and real
