Lyrics

Dallas:

I wrote the songs I'm singing
The ink I used was tears
I cry on stage for all the world to see
I sing with such compassion
That all my fans can say
It seems she's singing all her songs to
me

I'm singing my heart out in Dallas tonight
You can feel the passion in my song
Tomorrow Albuquerque
On Friday Santa Fe
I'll keep singing 'til I'm dead
Or the pain is gone

Tonight I thought I saw him
Sitting in the second row
Next to the one who stole his heart away
Like Dolly sang of Jolene
She took him cause she could
Regardless he's with her anyway

Im singing my heart out in Dallas tonight
You can feel the passion in my song
Tomorrow Albuquerque
On Friday Santa Fe
I'll keep singing 'til I'm dead
Or the pain is gone

Lights so bright
But I'm so cold
Got all that glitters
I need some gold
Maybe there's a special place in heaven for me

Waking up at midnight on the tour bus that's my home
Tomorrow night I'll cry in San Jose
The driver keeps on driving and driving through the night
But he never seems to drive my pain away

I'm singing my heart out in Dallas tonight
You can feel the passion in my song
Tomorrow Albuquerque
On Friday Santa Fe
I'll keep singing 'til I'm dead
Or the pain is gone

Dallas" is a powerful and moving piece of music that showcases his considerable talent as a vocalist and songwriter.

Charles Edmund Carter will tug on your heartstrings.

Some great heartfelt storytelling ala' Karen Carpenter meets Caryl Simon.

As an artist of many years in the music recording industry I am still learning to improve my abilities of the Craft be it musically or to be lyrically proficient. The concept of your song "Dallas" I understand. Maybe a collaboration with another songwriter may show you some new way of construction the ideas of any song or give you a different perspective too. There is potential in 'Dallas' as it's close to Fort Worth (joke but true) and not near Austin easy due to the climate at times.... So besides this bad city reference I used the worth of our song writing maybe in all in consumers requests. Again, I know you know all pro reviewers have their own opinions different than another. Some are based on or by their years of experience and knowledge. Looking forward to reviewing another song of yours too. Thank you and continue writing!

A universal love-lost lyric sung with honesty and emotion, a heartbreaker about life on the road without your true love.
