Story Behind The Song

This song came about after I witnessed an experience my friend went through. He was under the impression that his relationship was fine, when it was actually unraveling. Loosing her was actually a good thing for him in the long run, he was much better off. But the lasting sting of the experience was that she went around making sure everyone, even peripheral folks without much concern, knew it. Literally everyone but him. I felt terribly for him and could easily project myself in the same situation which made the narrative of the lyric easy to write. I wanted to match it to an mildly aggressive, funky beat.
