Am I Forgiven?

Story Behind The Song

When Bruce attempted to take his resulting scientific knowledge and spiritual revelation to Edgar Cayce's A.R.E., he was too scientific for their philosophy and went bankrupt from the attempt while living in Virginia Beach through 2001. When Bruce asked God why this was happening and what he was supposed to do now, all he could hear from God and the actions of those around him was... "Just let go." "What you mean just let go? "But what about my knowledge?" "Just let go." "But what about my career?" "Just let go." "But what about my goals and finances?" "Just let go." "But what about my family?" "Just let go." "But what about the Spiral Violet 1?" "Just let go." But what about my health?" "Just let go." "But where will I go, where will I sleep, what will I eat?" "Just let go." "But what about my life?" "Just let go." "Uh, God, are you saying you want me to just let go, of everything?" "You're kind of slow, aren't you?" "Wait a second. Why do you sound like Morgan Freeman?" "Just let go, Bruce." Separated from the device that had protected Bruce from the mercury poison, Bruce fell to homeless disability at the mercy of the medical health care system available to the indigent. Two Vioxx-induced heart attacks and Bruce's protracted near death experience with congestive heart failure was the result. Bruce was tortured for three years with daily chest pain, swelling in his extremities and the returning crippling spinal arthritis, as the physicians wouldn't listen or treat Bruce's previously diagnosed mercury intoxication. All was lost and Bruce was preparing to lie down and die in a poverty-stricken boarding house where he resided from 2001 to 2004. More of the story with the next song, "I Lost my Father to the Sea." "The temple interior, the belly of the whale, and the heavenly land beyond, above and below the confines of the world, are one and the same." -Joseph Campbell, The Hero with a Thousand Faces

Song Description

During a blue moment, Bruce asks God if he is forgiven for all the mistakes he made during his quest for healing and enlightenment of himself and those he has come to serve by helping them with the alleviation of their suffering. Picking up from the last song description, "Fire of a Diamond," on Bruce's quest to heal himself from the spinal arthritic hip wound illness, he was spiritually guided to travel to the Great Pyramid in Egypt in 1998 with a tour group with the grandson of Edgar Cayce, Dr. Charles Thomas Cayce, then director of the Association for Research and Enlightenment. Then modifying Bruce's Spiral Violet 1 biophysics technology with a pyramidal housing resulted in Bruce recovering sufficiently to complete the Tampa Bay 24 mile ocean marathon in 10 hours and 42 minutes in 1999; the equivalent of running 100 miles in a single day (with your arms! ;o)

Lyrics

I fell far from grace I knew in this place,
Am I forgiven,
I fell to the street the lost souls I'd meet,
Am I forgiven,
I fell from the rapture their suffering I'd capture,
Am I forgiven,
I fell from your pocket I rose as a prophet,
Am I forgiven,

Chorus:

Am I forgiven my sin,
To find the heaven within,
Lord will I ever win,
To enlighten their world,

I played the fool long ago,
When you asked me to go,
On the long journey home,
Won't you open the door,

Am I forgiven,
-

I laid down my life my children my wife,
Am I forgiven,
I suffered for years I shed all their tears,
Am I forgiven,
I faced down the lie and I nearly died,
Am I forgiven,
Accepted your call and climbed up your wall,
Am I forgiven,

Chorus:

Am I forgiven?
