Story Behind The Song
We love love and we love music.
That's our story.
We also love putting our Middle Eastern inspired stamp on our music.
This 2008 album (Just Do What's Right) was nominated for a Grammy in 2008 in the Contemporary World Music Category.
Song Description
It was inspired by feelings of unrequited love and thinking of a wonderful love we have, might have had or wished we had. Some of the lyrics are original and some were inspired from the Songs of Solomon from the Bible BUT it is not a Christian song. We just found those lyrics poetic, beautiful and they fit the song.
We used regular keyboards, bass and drums but added violin, mizmar (Middle Eastern folk horn, doumbek, riq & def (Middle Eastern drum, tambourine and frame drum) and zils (finger cymbals) to give it our trademark exotic ' Baladi ; sound.

Lyrics
(1) Who is this - coming up from the desert
Leaning on her love of loves
Who is this - rising up from the desert
Silent as the moon above
* Chorus:
* Oh what makes your beloved
Stand apart and above
Truest of all companions
* Oh what makes your beloved
Share the eyes of the dove
Fairest of all these women
RISE COME away with me!
(2) Who is this - Sitting here in the garden
Where mandrake shares its sweet perfume
* Repeat Chorus *
(3) And lips like a sweet pomegranate
Blazing as the pomegranate blooms
* Repeat Chorus *
