Aqua Waltz

Story Behind The Song

I was thinking of a precious Brian Wilson song gone mad. The little walk up to the root chord of each verse is very traditional, but the song is very weird.

Song Description

Aqua Waltz is a very slow instrumental with an ethereal slide guitar melody. The chords are very simple, but they keep changing keys through a cycle until they get back to the original chord which is D. There is an effect on the guitar which is an Electro Harmonix Memory Man which is very warm adn musical. I spun the knobs to make the echo modulate. The song is supposed to make the listener feel like they are sinking deeper and deeper in a very peaceful way. Very simple and sparse arrangement with one rhythm guitar, one bass, one slide guitar and a drum machine set to a simple stock beat. I did not want to try to top the guitar part so I kept it this way without cutting new drums.
