Story Behind The Song
My brother in law after attending my wedding told me i had to write my God song because of all the good things that had been happening for me. And then after finding out about my wife and mine's impending birth of our first child then he told me I really needed to get on the stick and write something. So I did.
Song Description
This song is about finding my wife or her finding me after a few decades of playing Guitar in a rock band in Austin Texas living the wild life and not appreciating much of the true things in life that matter which I write about in the song. The first two verses deal with her and I and relating to us diving right in to it when we were both a little gun shy. The last speaks of our son. The chorus is about myself and that I've never been very religeous but you question that when things fall together so beautifully.

Lyrics
What makes me grateful,
what makes me cry
What I never had,
and how I never tried
And where it all came from
Right out of the blue
Just like everyone said, and it all came true
When God delivered you
And you filled me up
When I was all but dry
And despair gave way to an-
Open eye.
And how you were brave
And just pushed right through
And I was saved by what you would do
When God delivered you- into my hands
God delivered you.
I?ve never been a religious man. Never subscribed to some divine plan
But I still prayed
When I was down-
and it?s hard to ignore with what I have found
since God delivered you- Into my hands.
God delivered you.
Now there?s enough
And then you find
More?s on the way and I-
Can?t deny
That I?ve been blessed
And can?t wait to see
The little boy that makes us-
a family
When God delivers you- into our hands
God delivers you.
