Song Description

I wrote the first 2 bars of this piece on the 4th of July and I really liked it. After I wrote the two bars I experimented with different rhythmic variations over the very simple theme. The end result was a basic form of A, B, A prime, B prime. Then the solo section, and then the head out. At first I did not know what genre to classify it as. It had elements of Latin, funk and jazz. Now I just call it Jazz/Funk. This piece was originally composed on solo piano and I then wrote it out for the rest of the band.
