Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song in about 20 minutes while running a machine in a factory. The hook came to me, and the song just formed around it. I have about 2 minutes between each new box I had to pack, and wrote it down on an invoice paper during those shifts...I kept singing it all day so I would not forget the melody before I got home to my guitar.

Lyrics
Forever...it's a long time to settle down
That's what I didn't know when I took my vows
Against temptation, I never was real strong
So late one night when it called my name I had to play along
And when I got home that night, I looked her in the eyes
And with our little boy wrapped in her arms,
I told just one of many lies
Chorus
And if I can ever change my ways
The niggest debts I'll have to pay will be for my mistakes
If I ever turn my life around
I'll have a lot of making up to do for all my letting down
I promise I'll try to make it to your game
That's what I told my little boy before I drove away
It ain't the first time he's asked me if I'd show
But the bills I have to work to pay make it hard to go
And when I get home tonight I know I'll have to face
A ten ten year old boy's broken heart
That "I'm sorry" won't replace
Chorus
I've always only cared about what feels good at the time
Never once thinking about the people that I leave behind
Chorus
I'll have a lot of making up to do
For all my letting down
