Story Behind The Song
No real story behind it when I wrote it...I just wanted to write something in a Travis Tritt style as I was listening to quite a bit of his music...it has since become a self-fulfilling prophecy though.
Song Description
This is a song about a man who is trying to move on from a marriage that didn't work. Still living in the same house, he is surrounded by the memories of the relationship and has trouble forgetting. Attempts to move on are impeded by the memories. He feels overwhelmingly lonely, but the company of others is not enough to help him.

Lyrics
Everyday the sun comes up while I'm laying here in bed
With one hand on the pillow where you once laid your head
I've got blankets all around me but it's cold as winter's snow
And a lonely breeze keeps blowing through my heart and through my sould
Chorus
And I'm trying to get over all those memories
That linger in the hallways of our home sweet broken home
But without you here I guess I'll just go crazy
'Cause I can't handle losing you alone
I spent some time in barrooms with ladies I once knew
Whose memories I had pushed aside when we said "I do"
And everytime it felt like I was about to see the light
The shadows of the love we had would fade it out of sight
Chorus
Every night the moon comes up while I'm laying here in bed
Wondering why the pillow beside mine no longer holds your head
Waiting for the hour that will bring the morning light
holding to my sanity for another night
Chrorus
No I can't handle losing you alone
