Story Behind The Song
Song started with a bass line I was playing with and everything just followed. the music suggested words and the song just wrote itself.
Song Description
The man is obviously in love, and fearful of losing his woman. He tries to find excuses for her missing their anniversary dinner and staying out all night without a phone call or explanation. He suspects she was with a man, but doesn't want to admit that possibility to himself. The woman obviously has the upper hand in the relationship, but the man becomes more determined to find out why and where she was.

Hey, Baby. I?m not looking for a fight.
C?mon, Baby. I?m not looking for a fight.
But I just can?t understand,
Why you stayed out all last night.
Did you visit a sick friend, or have a family emergency?
Did your car break down? Were you involved in a felony?
It had to be pretty important, because you know you promised me,
To meet me at our favorite place, for our anniversary.
Hey, baby. I know something isn?t right.
It?s clear that something happened.
And it happened just last night.
Why won?t you tell me what it was?
Did your Daddy Have a heart attack? Did you have to work real late?
Do you just have too much going on? Is there too much on your plate?
There?s got to be a good reason, why you missed this important date.
If you can?t simply tell me the truth, then at least prevaricate.
Hey baby. I know, something isn?t right.
It?s clear that something?s going on.
And it started just last night.
Hey, Baby. I?m not looking for a fight.
C?mon, Baby. I?m not looking for a fight.
But just give me one good reason,
Why you stayed out all last night.
