Story Behind The Song
I put this song together to memorialize a 1300+ mile motorcycle ride my late father and I took to our vacation home two-thirds of the way down Baja California a decade or so before he passed away. After a long ride in rugged, unforgiving territory, our excitement grew as we neared our little oasis in the desert, somewhat relieved and proud of ourselves for making real one of our longest-held dreams, instead of just talking about it. Thanks, Dad!
Song Description
Closer and Closer is what rock would have been if the Old West had Stratocasters... Lyrical acoustic and driving electric guitars set the pace and horns voice excitement felt at the end of a long ride through an often unforgiving land.
