Rock That Body

Story Behind The Song

This is old skool free-style, unstereotyed, party, fun rap from the early rap/hip-hop fly era of Roxanne, The Fat Boys, Run DMC, Curtis Blow, Salt 'n' Peppa, Dougie Fresh, Whoudini, grammy awarded MC Hammer, and so on. It was test marketed along with its companion song 'Can You Handle It?' as a diga-cassette at young adult R&B and Hip-Hop nightclubs and independent music-related small businesses in San Francisco and Oakland, CA in the summer of 1993 and brought about a flood of mail requesting performances and appearances by Joygirl. The producer's entertainment attorney had also secured a major label record contract offer; however, Joygirl, then a recent college graduate, had secured a good and secure day job and had recently gotten married, and so declined all of the offers. With the tidal wave arrival of independent music broadcast and sales opportunities via the internet, her spunky, thrilling music as well as the complete trilogy album sets of Archives of Love is and are now available and can be heard by on-demand click streaming on Broadjam.com and can be purchased by download or CD mail delivery from most major internet music sites. Both songs pass the test of time for ongoing appreciation and audience welcome.

Rock That Body -- Lyrics

Y'all ready for this?

ooh ooh oooh yeh
aah aah aaah yeh

yeh

Here we go.

ooh ooh oooh yeh
aah aah aaah yeh

Pump it up! Pump it up!

I'm gonna attempt to get you outta ya seat. So pay attention y'all to this fonky beat.

Just snatch somebody or just dance alone. Doesn't matter how you groove cus you're on your own.

Stand up y'all! Loosen up y'all! Get maxin and wiggle, wiggle ya butt!
Pump it till you drop. Don't you ever stop, cus I'm gonna make that body, make it,
make it rock.

Just rock that body; don't ever sto-op
the beat is too hyyped the groove is too hot

Just rock that body; don't ever sto-op
the beat is too hyyped the groove is too hot

Now while you're jammmin, jammin to the def beat, let me tell ya a little somtin about me. Now I'm from Cali, California, that is. SF is where I'm from. Oaktown is where I live. My biggest competition is myself and I don't buy rhymes from nobody else. I'm smooth on my right. I'm smooth on my left. I'm so smooth, make yo body move. I can't help myself!

Just rock that body; don't ever sto-op
the beat is too hyyped the groove is too hot

Do it till ya body gets hot!

Just rock that body; don't ever sto-op
the beat is too hyyped the groove is too hot

Pump it up! Pump it up!

ooh ooh oooh yeh
aah aah aaah yeh

The girl's so fly!

The girl's so fly!

ooh ooh oooh yeh
aah aah aaah yeh

Ooh, the girl's so fly!

Soon as she walked in she caught my eye!

DJ!, Bring back the fonky beat!

Slammin party people jump to your feet!

Ladies, with fly guys on your tip, hump that body and shake those hips.

Hey fellas, with hotties on ya jaw, work the pelvic thrust and let that body rock.

If ya gotta fine man, you better hold him real tight; I'll do the rock that body. Hey, I'll do him all night!

Rockin, rock that body -- such a sex-ay thing.

Ooh, the girl's so fly!

Rockin, rock that body --
such a sex-ay thing.

Ooh, the girl's so fly!

I'm gonna jam this party.
I'm gonna turn it out.
Gonna rock yo body
and make ya scream and shout.

Ho-oh!

Get on up
and grip those hips
and mo-ove,
gro-oo-ove,

groo-oo-oo-oo-ooove.

Move your body from left to right. Gonna see you rock that body tonight.

Move that body from left to
right. Just rock, rock
rock that body.

Move your body from left to right. Gonna make you rock that body tonight.

The girl's so fly!

Move that body from left to
right. Just rock, rock
rock that body.

Ooh, the girl's so fly

Soon as walked in she caught my eye.

Ooh, the girl's so fly!

Ooh, the girl's so fly!

Soon as she walked in she
caught my eye.

So sweet, so young and so tender.

Ooh, the girl so fly!

Ooh, the girl!

Ooh, the girl!

Ooh, the girl!

Ooh, the girl's so fly!

Ooh, the girl's so fly! Soon as she walked in she caught my eye.
So sweet, so young and so tender.

Most of the time I just surrendered with this girl, with that girl.

She's the only girl who could rock my world.

It may be satisfaction or simply fatal attraction.
